N’Golo Kante to miss Wolves match but Antonio Rudiger returns for Chelsea
N’Golo Kante will miss Chelsea’s trip to Wolves and remains an Uncertainty for matches from Liverpool and Valencia Weekly.
Kante missed both of France’s fittings during the global break with an ankle injury and also a return against Wolves is”too soon”, manager Frank Lampard confirmed on Friday.
Following 17, chelsea play Valencia in their opening Champions League match on Wednesday, prior to hosting Liverpool.
“I really don’t want to jump the gun because we are awaiting advancement to fill that last step to get him to where we want him to be around the pitch again,” Lampard said. “But hopefully that will be in a week or so.”
Mateo Kovacic (Achilles) and Pedro (hamstring) are fit to play against pilots, while Antonio Rudiger is going to probably soon be available after recovering from a knee injury that finished last season for the protector.
Chelsea have conceded nine goals in their four Premier League games this season, with Norwich with a worse record.
“it is an option for myself, but he’ll have an important responsibility,” said Lampard, when asked if Rudiger goes straight into Chelsea’s defence. “We have missed him as we have a few more front-line players.
“I do not need a young group for the sake of it. He could be influential. He is ready to undertake those jobs.”
Lampard said he was”proud” to watch Mason Mount make his England debut during the international break, but put strain on the 20-year-old to keep performances.
“This is the place where the evaluation ramps up,” said former England and Chelsea midfielder Lampard.
Tammy Abraham, 21, also got a warning not to let his spot is seized by rivals in Chelsea’s starting line-up – after four goals.
“I need more, he wants more, they need more – and they’ll need to,” said Lampard.” [Olivier] Giroud, [Michy] Batshuayi they all want that place so all of them need to be on their feet.”
